BETTER LIGHTING FOR SOUTHERN HIGHLANDS SPORTING FIELDS

CAROL BERRY

LABOR CANDIDATE FOR WHITLAM

A re-elected Albanese Labor Government would put $3 million towards upgrades at ovals and parks across the Southern Highlands.

This election commitment would go towards lighting at Church Road Oval in Moss Vale as well as the David Woods Playing Field in Bowral.

The provision of lighting at these fields will improve sustainability and allow sporting teams to play and train for extended hours and create a safer environment for athletes and spectators.

This commitment will also support the delivery of upgrades at Hampden Park in Robertson, which will include a pump track and expanded skate park and revitalised playground.

It will also benefit members of the wider community who use these ovals on a day-to-day basis.

Consistent with past practice, election commitments will be delivered in line with Commonwealth Grants Rules and Principles.

Quotes attributable to Labor Candidate for Whitlam Carol Berry:

“As a soccer mum and as a former soccer player myself, I know what a difference a well-lit sporting field can make.

“If re-elected, an Albanese Labor Government will improve field lighting in the Southern Highlands, which will make a real difference to clubs and players.

“Sport is such an important way for kids and adults to stay fit and to be part of the community.

“Improving the quality of sporting fields in our region is a great investment by government at all levels.”
