Labor Candidate for Parkes Nathan Fell today welcomed Senator Deborah O’Neill back to Dubbo to announce that a re-elected Albanese Labor Government will put $2 million towards street greening in the Dubbo CBD.
This election commitment follows advocacy from Dubbo City Council as it implements strategies aimed at reducing the heat island effect, which is felt keenly on hotter days in the CBD.
This election commitment will match the scale of the streetscape and existing heritage values, enhancing Dubbo’s character as a “gateway city”.
This announcement builds on the Albanese Labor Government’s investments into infrastructure throughout Parkes, including stage 1 of the Dubbo Airport runway upgrade and shared pathway upgrades in the Brewarrina and Goodooga town centres.
Consistent with past practice, election commitments will be delivered in line with Commonwealth Grants Rules and principles.
