Simon Earle today welcomed Senator Tony Sheldon back to Miranda, in the electorate of Cook, to announce that a re-elected Albanese Labor Government will deliver upgraded sports lighting, poles and electrical switchboards at Bellingara Netball Courts.

This $500,000 election commitment will fund:

  • Upgrade of electrical supply and replacement switchboard
  • Installation of SMS/automated lighting control
  • Excavation and installation of light and power cables and conduits
  • Installation of floodlight poles complete with LED luminaires for playing fields.

Consistent with past practice, election commitments will be delivered in line with Commonwealth Grants Rules and Principles.

Quotes attributable to Senator Tony Sheldon

Bellingara netball courts have serviced the local netball community for decades. This investment by the Albanese Labor government will increase sustainability, decrease the running costs of floodlights, and ensure the facility is enjoyed by the community for years to come.

Quotes attributable to Simon Earle

When we think of netball here in Cook, we think of Bellingara. It’s an incredible facility and this much needed upgrade of lighting will maximise utilisation of the courts, while prioritising the safety of players, officials, volunteers and spectators.
