NSW Labor and the Labor Science Network present the first event of the NSW Labor Speaker Series - ‘What just happened: why the polls were so wrong’ with Professor Simon Jackman.
The shock result of the 2019 Federal Election has shone a light on inaccuracies in public polling across Australia and has led to calls for reform of polling methods more generally, especially given the central place public polls play in shaping political discourse and campaigning strategies of parties.
Join us in the Trades Hall Auditorium from 6.00pm on Wednesday 4 September 2019 to hear from world-leading political scientist and polling expert, Professor Simon Jackman, on why the polls got it so wrong and what can be done about it.
Professor Jackman will discuss new research from his team including a comparative analysis of Australian public polling over the last several years.
