Sharon Claydon

Sharon is a fifth generation Novocastrian with more than 15 years’ experience working in her local community.

After graduating from Lambton High School, Sharon completed an Honours degree in Anthropology and worked in remote Aboriginal communities and the community-based disability service sector.

A councillor on Newcastle City Council, Sharon has a proud history of working with community groups, local businesses and industry to deliver for the people of Newcastle.

Sharon is passionate about fighting for Labor values like more jobs and better local services for communities. She is currently Patron of the Stockton Historical Society and was Treasurer of the Newcastle Aboriginal Support Group for 10 years.

Sharon lives in Newcastle, enjoys live music and follows the Newcastle Knights.
