Michael Daley

Maroubra_MichaelDaley_Background.jpgMichael was elected to the NSW Parliament in September 2005 to represent the electorate of Maroubra.

Michael was sworn in as Minister for Police on Monday 14 September 2009, and as Minister for Finance on Tuesday 17th November 2009. Prior, he was also the Minister for Roads from the 8th of September 2008 to the 14th of September 2009.

Before his election to Parliament, he was a Senior Corporate Lawyer employed by NRMA Motoring & Services.

Michael has also spent five years in private legal practice and 13 years working as a Customs Officer with the Australian Customs Service.

Michael served as a Councillor on Randwick City Council for 13 years during which time he was Deputy Mayor for four years.

Michael is an active community member to which his past and present commitments can attest including - Former President of the Randwick Rugby Club; President of the Marcellin College Randwick Ex Students’ Association (since 1998); and Former Director of Randwick Rugby Foundation Limited (a not-for-profit charitable trust).

Michael is also Patron of Maroubra and South Maroubra Surf Clubs Maroubra Bowling Club, Malabar RSL Club, The Coast Golf Club; Randwick Golf Club, Yarra Bay Sailing Club and Friends of La Perouse Museum.
