A local who understands us.

Liesl Tesch is a proud member of the Peninsula community calling Woy Woy home. Prior to her election in 2017, Liesl worked as a teacher at our local public schools for over 20 years, including at Brisbane Water Secondary College.

Liesl has represented Australia proudly at seven Paralympic games across the sports of basketball and sailing, bringing home two gold medals.

In 2014, Liesl was awarded a Member of the Order of Australia for her significant service to sport and promotion of sport for people with disabilities.

Liesl is honoured to have been inducted into the NSW and Australian Basketball Hall of Fame, Australian Sailing Hall of Fame and the Sport Australia Hall of Fame. A proud champion of disability inclusion, Liesl is honoured to hold the position of Regional Champion for Australia as a Commonwealth Parliamentarian with a Disability.

Liesl Tesch fights every day to help our local kids get the best education possible. As a proud local, Liesl understands what is truly important to the people of Gosford – access to health care and education, strong local employment, the environment and secure housing.

Liesl is a passionate advocate for our entire community, fighting for justice, fairness, equity and inclusion.
