Jerome Laxale was first elected as the Member for Bennelong in 2022. Having served in local government for 10 years, including five years as Mayor of the City of Ryde, Jerome has long been a passionate and accessible advocate for his local community. Jerome and his family live in North Ryde, having lived locally for nearly 20 years.
In the 48th Parliament, Jerome is Chair of the Joint Standing Committee on electoral matters, and a member of the House Economics committee and the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Intelligence and Security.
He takes a keen interest in climate change, health, housing, enhancing multiculturalism, and prioritising effective local representation.
Jerome is an experienced elected official, board director, and business consultant, offering nearly 20 years of leadership experience within the private sector and government, including board roles and business leadership.
