Hugh McDermott
Member for Prospect
Hugh McDermott MP lives in the State seat of Prospect with his wife Bettina and their young family. As the Labor Member for Prospect, he's ready to stand up for Western Sydney and make sure our area gets the attention it deserves.
Prior to his election to Parliament, Hugh worked as a Barrister and Director of Financial Crime Programs at the Australian Graduate School of Policing & Security, Charles Sturt University. His previous community involvement includes holding the positions of President of the Rotary Club of Wetherill Park, Trustee of the Smithfield RSL Sub-Branch (Hugh served 7 years with the Army Reserve), and as Brigade President and volunteer firefighter with the Rural Fire Service, Horsley Park.
Hugh will put Western Sydney first
The Liberals are making it harder and harder to get by and raise a family in our community. Hugh will:
- Ease the cost of living by lowering household bills and introducing the M4 Cashback;
- Provide our families world-class health and education by getting our children out of overcrowded demountables, and funding local health services;
- Stop overdevelopment in Western Sydney and properly fund the infrastructure we really need; and
- Create local, secure jobs in Western Sydney that ensure long term employment and financial security for you and your family.
