Penny Sharpe MLC

Penny is the longest standing advocate for LGBTIQ+ rights and causes that many members will know within the State Parliament. Her involvement in the movement over decades, and her place within the NSW Upper House, give her a unique and valued perspective on this discussion.

Ryan Park MP

Ryan is the Shadow Minister for Health and Shadow Minister for Mental Health - two areas of policy which are profoundly important to the LGBTIQ+ community, and two areas which could see dramatic positive change for the community under a Labor Government. 

Ghassan Kassisieh

Ghassan is the Legal Director of Equality Australia and has over a decade of experience in LGBTIQ+ advocacy and law reform. Born out of the successful ‘Yes’ campaign for marriage equality, Equality Australia is a national LGBTIQ+ organisation working to ensure equality for LGBTIQ+ people. Equality Australia is a non-partisan community organisation that brings together legal, policy and communications expertise, along with thousands of supporters for LGBTIQ+ equality.

Bailey Riley

Bailey is one of the Rainbow Labor co-convenors and is a young, indigenous, trans-woman and is part of the next generation of activists for the LGBTIQ+ community. 

Halcyon Powe

Halcyon is the Chair of Union Pride and leading a renewed focus on the contributions of the LGBTIQ+ community to the union movement, with a panel as part of World Pride next year and celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the BLF's pink-ban, the first industrial action for gay rights in the world.
