Tim Gartrell is a former National Secretary of the ALP, a position he held from 2003 to 2008. Tim’s career spans three decades in campaigning, advocacy, external relations, and communications.
His leadership roles have included - Campaign Director YES Equality Campaign, Joint Campaign Director Recognise, CEO Generation One, CEO Auspoll, National Secretary and National Campaign Director Australian Labor Party. In 2009 he was awarded the National Press Club’s “Golden Gong” for Public Affairs.
Tim was born and raised in Orange in Central West NSW. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from UNSW and a Masters of Arts in Communications Studies from the University of South Australia.
