Chainsaw-happy John Barilaro has vowed to introduce legislation to remove protections of the Murray Valley National Park.
This environmental vandalism will encourage the mowing down of our majestic river red gum forests, putting at risk threatened species that rely on the forests and the park’s internationally recognised wetlands.
This is a reckless, irresponsible proposal that would be the first time in NSW history that a National Park was revoked.
We call on Ms Berejiklian to immediately and urgently rule out any move to revoke the status of the Murray Valley National Park.
We must protect our precious natural environment and the native species that rely on it.
