Paul has lived in the Coogee electorate for most of his life. He attended Bronte Public School, as did his sons and now his grand daughters are there. He has deep roots in the local community having served on Waverley Council for over 20 years both as Councillor and Mayor, and subsequently Member for Coogee.


Paul Pearce has the experience to get results

Paul, with both local and state government experience knows how to get results for the Coogee community. He is prepared to stand up to those who would seek to diminish the great lifestyle enjoyed in Coogee, be it developers or government. As State member, Paul fought to stop the redevelopment of the Coogee Bay Hotel, argued for the  expansion of bus services from Clovelly, and for improvements in the rail service from Bondi Junction, amongst many other achievements.


Paul Pearce will stand by his principles

Paul believes in public services and is opposed to privatization of basic services and utilities. Paul will vigorously work to ensure that electricity 'poles and wires' remain in public hands. Paul strongly believes that TAFE funding must be maintained and TAFE courses must not be outsourced to the private providers. Paul will work with the committed nurses and doctors at Prince of Wales Hospital to ensure that there is no reduction in the quality of this great public hospital.


Some facts about Paul Pearce

Paul is married to Ingrid Strewe and has three sons, three grand daughters and one grandson in their blended family. Paul holds bachelor degrees in Arts and Law, and has recently graduated with a Masters of Law in Human Rights law. Paul is a member of the International Bar Association's Human Rights Institute. Paul is a long term member of the Australian Conservation Foundation and the Gene Ethics Network.
