Mal Tulloch is employed as a Senior Organiser with the ASU NSW & ACT Services Branch.
He has held various positions in the union movement over the last 25 years including the MEAA, CFMEU and CWU. Mal is a qualified electrician completing his electrical apprenticeship in 1983.
As an endorsed ALP Councillor he represented his local community on Holroyd City Council for 13 years from 1995 and served as its Mayor between 2002 and 2004. He was acknowledged for his contribution towards the development and implementation of ethical labour standards in Council’s business plans, protection of the environment through sustainability, delivering an open and transparent administration of Council, community participation in Council's decision making processes and a fierce advocate for the community's health and safety.
Mal was a member of the Merrylands Branch of the ALP for 18 years and served as the Merrylands branch secretary, Granville SEC delegate, Reid FEC delegate, NSW Conference delegate and on the ATSIC Policy Committee. He is also a member of the NSW ALP Admin Committee and is currently a member of the Narrabeen/Pittwater Branch.
Mal is a member of the Aboriginal Employment & Engagement Board at the University of Western Sydney where he has been dedicated to representing, organising and empowering workers, their families and communities to achieve a better standard of living with dignity and respect.
