Kate grew up in the Tamworth electorate having attended St Michael’s Primary School in Manilla and Oxley High School in Tamworth. She is now raising her three children in Gunnedah.
Kate worked for eight years as a frontline community worker in the disability, mental health and aged care sectors. She then moved into grant and tender writing and funding space, attracting funding to address issues impacting her local communities.
Kate is currently a Councillor for Gunnedah Shire Council, a Board Member for The Gatepost Therapy Services and a Founding member for Gunnedah Community Roundtable.
Kate is acutely aware of the crisis facing regional healthcare across New South Wales. In her capacity as a member of Gunnedah Community Roundtable Kate gave evidence to the NSW Upper House Inquiry into Rural and Regional Health Outcomes and has welcomed NSW Labor’s commitment to implement all recommendations of this inquiry.
