Steve Ackerman is the Labor candidate for Hornsby in the 2015 NSW state election.

A proud local and small business owner, Steve has lived in Hornsby for 25 years with his wife and teenage daughter.

Serving our Community

Steve has always had a strong community involvement as a member of local environment and bush regeneration groups. As a member of his daughters pre school parent committee and primary school before and after school care committees, he understands the importance of these services to working families.
He understands how important protecting the local environment is and the value of quality, affordable child care
Steve has also been a long time member of his local Community Fire Unit.

Steve will be a new voice for Hornsby

As a TAFE graduate Steve knows the value of this institution and how it offers so many a pathway to a career, trade or vocation. He will always fight hard against any cuts to education, it is our best investment.
He will defend our front line services from cost cutting that see our local fire stations temporarily closed, health care workers being forced to do more with less and support our police to protect our communities.
Steve believes that safe seats like Hornsby are taken for granted and he will fight hard to ensure that Hornsby gets the infrastructure it needs at local train stations to improve access, commuter parking and bicycle storage.
As a part of a NSW Labor government Steve is committed to restoring the public trust, transparency and accountability of elected officials.
