Kathy Smith cares about our community
Living in Umina and dedicating her time to a number of volunteer groups, Kathy Smith is part of our community. With three generations of family living locally, Kathy is proud to see her children and grandchildren enjoying our unique lifestyle and knows what it takes to make the Coast an even better place to live, work and raise a family.
Kathy Smith Gets Results
As the chairperson of Cancer Voices NSW, Kathy got results. Kathy secured joint funding from State and Federal Labor Governments to build the Regional Cancer Centre at Gosford Hospital, ensuring that thousands of locals were able to get vital radiotherapy right here on the Coast, without having to travel to Newcastle or Sydney for treatment. With a long history working with organisations including the Consumers Health Forum, Medicines Australia, and Cancer Institute of NSW, and experience running small businesses, Kathy is a strong community candidate who is dedicated to making sure the Coast gets a better deal.
Kathy Smith will fight for the Central Coast
The Liberal Party has forgotten about the Central Coast, and is taking our area for granted. Kathy Smith will make sure that locals have their voices heard. She will:
- Fight the Liberals’ cuts to Gosford and Woy Woy hospitals and reduce patient waiting times;
- Fight to protect pensioner travel concessions from Liberal cuts;
- Stand up for our local TAFES against more cuts, which will help people on the Central Coast get the skills they need to get into employment;
- Work with business and government to deliver jobs on the Coast so more locals can work close to home.
