Jerome Laxale is NSW Labor's candidate for Ryde in the 2015 State Election.

I want you to know that representing Labor in Ryde is a task that I do with great humility and determination. I also now come to the role with more experience than ever, having been elected to Ryde Council in 2012 and spending a year as your Mayor during the term.
In my years on Council, I have fought for better facilities, more open space and for community events that bring people together. I also initiated Council’s entry into Social Media, its partnership with Australia’s Racism it stops with me! campaign, led a national push against changes to the Racial Discrimination Act and was the driving force behind Council’s recent adoption of its Affordable Housing policy.
Contrast that record with that of the Liberals in Ryde. In the 10 or so years that the Liberals have represented Ryde, we have seen cuts to services across our electorate. Cuts to Service NSW, cuts to Health and Justice and massive cuts to TAFE.

We have also seen the Liberals totally drop the ball on education, with chronic overcrowding, a lack of planning and severe shortages in school maintenance funding across Ryde.

These cuts have hurt Ryde and our community. In 2019, we must tell Gladys Berejiklian that she cannot take Ryde for granted. If we don't we'll continue to see the same level of cuts that have hurt our community to date.

In March 2019, I'll be asking for your support to become the Member for Ryde.
