NSW Indigenous Labor Network Meeting

Guest Speaker: Tim Gartrell will address the meeting on the subject of Constitutional Change. Tim is the Joint Campaign Director for Recognise, and brings over two decades of experience running national and local election campaigns to the role. Before joining Recognise, he was the CEO of the Indigenous employment advocacy group GenerationOne. Earlier in his career, he was National Campaign Director for federal Labor, including the 2004 and 2007 election campaigns.

Agenda: This is the first meeting of the Network which has been re-formed with the main goal of contributing in accordance with Labor values to greater participation by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples in the ALP. The Executive Committee has prepared the following papers for consideration by Network members:-

1:  Re-Forming the NSW Indigenous Labor Network.

As endorsed by the NSW ALP State Conference on 27 July 2014.

2: Nomination for Patron of the NSW Indigenous Labor Conference

3: Draft Constitution and Rules of the NSW Indigenous Labor Network

4: Greater Representation by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Members in the NSW ALP Party Units.

5: The Position of the Network on Constitutional Change

6: Coalition Indigenous Advancement Policy

7: Other Business

Those attending are invited to submit ideas and proposals on the work priorities of the Network and the means by which its goals and priorities might be achieved.
