About Italian Friends of Labor
The Italian Friends of Labor commenced under the stewardship of well known and respected Italian community leaders who believed in the core values of the Australian Labor Party. Under their leadership, many NSW Labor politicians have been supported with their campaigns and Italian community building activities.
The Italian Friends of Labor has a long and proud history in the political landscape in NSW, Australia. In the 1970’s, a group of Labor Party members with Italian heritage initiated this support group with the aim of providing effective financial, community and communications support to the NSW branch of the Labor Party.
During the course of its history, the activities of the Italian Friends of Labor have been consistent. Notable politicians that have been involved with Italian Friends of Labor include the former Premier of NSW, the Hon. Morris Iemma.
